8 Chinese New Year art panels welcome you to SF Chinatown

(SAN FRANCISCO) Eight art panels have been installed next to the shops in the heart of Chinatown to welcome more visitors coming and shopping.
The art panels project is a joint effort of a number of the organizations to celebrate the Lunar New Year in a unique way which would also promote Chinatown economy.
The theme of this year’s campaign is “Greetings from Chinatown” where eight art panels illustrate the rich culture of the Chinese community to celebrate the Chinese New Year in various festive activities.
George Chan, Executive Director of the Chinese Newcomers Service Center which is a leading organization on the campaign, introduced one of the panels located in Ross Alley in a press event.

SF Chinatown Merchants Association, Chinatown Merchants United Association of San Francisco, Meta (formerly Facebook) are the co-organizers of the campaign.
“We have 8 art panels with special Chinese greetings to encourage visitors to come celebrate Chinese New Year in Chinatown. We will also give merchants postcards to give away with the same design, so visitors can write to friends and family,” said Chan.
The postcards which are free for the visitors are available at the stores in Chinatown.
