Visitacion Valley leaders hope for more resources from federal government through Congressman Mullin’s advocacy for a "forgotten valley"

(SAN FRANCISCO) Community leaders representing several organizations in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood hoped for more resources from the federal government to upgrade their community center.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) As expected, the San Francisco Planning Commission voted 6-0 on May 4 to approve a cannabis license at 2490 San Bruno Avenue in Portola neighborhood, although several dozen members of the Chinese community came to speak at the public hearing to voice their concern of the impacts to the children.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) Seven members of the San Francisco Planning Commission voted unanimously to approve the Gold Mirror (Green Mirror) cannabis dispensary permit application in the Inner Sunset neighborhood. A long list of residents and business owners with the majority of Asians spoke in the public hearing to oppose the opening of the establishment.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) Little Saigon, the commercial corridor in Tenderloin, was lighted up with red lanterns last Sunday to make it a safer and more attractive neighborhood for residents and customers.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) Southeast Community Center in the Bayview neighborhood was officially opened last Saturday to offer the local residents a state-of-art facility and two acres of outdoor space for recreation and activities.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) Members of the Chinese community gathered on September 2 in front of the proposed location of a new cannabis store at 2490 San Bruno Avenue in the Portola neighborhood to protest against its license application. Selena Chu, one of the organizers of the protest, was attacked by a homeless woman during the rally.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) A brand new cannabis retail store at 2490 San Bruno Avenue in the Portola neighborhood is in the process of license application. The Chinese community in Portola is shocked to hear of the proposal and feels helpless and hopeless from the city elected officials.
