2024 Children art contest winning artworks on view from August to November at Chinatown Portsmouth Square Garage Gallery

(SAN FRANCISCO) The winning artworks of 36 young artists at the second annual APA Family Support Services Children art contest years are now on public view at the Portsmouth Square Garage gallery in Chinatown until November this year.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) 36 young artists were announced as winners of the 2024 Children's Art Contest. Liam Xie, a new immigrant from China, won in the contest as the overall champion.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) One House Filmmakers Fund was launched in January 2024 in partnership with Sundance Institute, Gold House, and East West Bank Foundation to support more filmmakers from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds in the entertainment industry.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) San Franciscans have selected a new "I Voted!" sticker by voting online and in person at the Department of Elections. The winner is Hollie C with a design to draw a number of the famous San Francisco landmarks and icons in the sticker.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) Nine finalists out of 501 submissions have been selected by the San Francisco Department of Elections to compete for the winners of the “I Voted!” sticker design contest. The winner will be determined by the members of the public who go online or in person to vote for their favorite sticker artwork.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) Well known and popular photographer Frank Jang has been taking pictures at San Francisco Chinatown for decades with over two million photos. It will be the first time that members of the public are able to view his works at his first solo photo exhibition on September 23 and 24 in Chinatown's Waverly Place.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) The Department of Elections announced the “I Voted!” sticker design contest and invited members of the public to submit their design. The winning design of the sticker will be given to all San Francisco voters in 2024.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) Chinglish, a play written by Tony Award winner David Henry Hwang, is presented in San Francisco performing from May 4 to June 10 in celebration of Asian Heritage Month.

  • (SAN FRANCISCO) Edge on the Square, a brand new contemporary art center established by the Chinatown Media & Arts Collaboration (CMAC) in the heart of San Francisco Chinatown, launched its first exhibition for public view on January 13 in time to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
