Commercial retail opportunities available at the upcoming Chinatown - Rose Pak Station

(SAN FRANCISCO) The Central Subway Chinatown - Rose Pak Station is in its testing phase, and is projected to open for service in fall 2022. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has issued a Request for Proposals to invite the public to lease two commercial retail spaces at the Chinatown - Rose Pak Station, including a coffee shop and a dry goods concessionaire.
By the input of the Chinese community, the station was designed by local architectural firms to include two ground-floor retail spaces for a food stand and a coffee shop.
SFMTA begins to accept proposal from March 1. The deadline for submission of the proposal is at noon on April 6.

Respondents may submit proposals for one or both of the retail spaces. “The SFMTA intends to select a respondents that can successfully create establishments that complement the station itself, the neighborhood, the surrounding businesses and community,” highlighted by SFMTA in the Request for Proposals statement.
According to the SFMTA, local owners featuring local concepts in its retail opportunities are encouraged to submit the proposal for leasing the spaces.
The coffee shop or drinks space is approximately 145 square feet. The cafe will be subject to heavy foot traffic as it is adjacent to the Stockton Street pedestrian entrance into the station. “The location of the cafe offers tremendous visibility to the public from Stockton Street, and commuters entering and exiting the station.” SFMTA said in the announcement.

Another commercial retail space for the sale of dry goods will be on the right-hand side to those entering the station from Washington Street. The space is approximately 234 square feet.
“The concessionaire will be subject to heavy foot traffic as it is on the ground floor in close proximity to the elevators and escalators. Commuters entering and exiting the station will walk by the concessionaire," SFMTA stated.
More details for leasing two commercial spaces can be found at the City’s website: www.SFMTA.com/ChinatownRetail under the subject of Chinatown - Rose Pak Station Commercial Retail Opportunities.
