SF Pathways to Citizenship Initiative hosts first free citizenship workshop in 2022 at SF City College

(SAN FRANCISCO) San Francisco Pathways to Citizenship Initiative hosted its first large in- person naturalization workshop in 2022 last Saturday on April 9 in SF City College main campus.
Over 80 volunteers, primarily attorneys and experienced volunteers, participated the workshop and assisted over 100 legal permanent residents in the application process.
The San Francisco Pathways to Citizenship Initiative was launched in 2013 by holding workshops to encourage immigrants becoming U.S. citizens. For the past nine years, the initiative has served more than 16,137 individuals and helped over 10,422 permanent residents become U.S. citizens. Over $4.7 million of application fees were saved through the initiative by assisting applicants with fee waivers.

The initiative is a partnership between the City and non-profit organizations including Self-Help for the Elderly.
Supervisor Gordon Mar, Executive Director of the SF Civic Engagement and Immigrant Affairs Adrienne Pon, and Self-Help for the Elderly CEO Anni Chung were in attendance to recognize the support from SF City College by hosting the workshop.
